Tribeca Film Festival

The Tribeca Film Festival is an annual event that takes place in New York City in the springtime. This event is known for showcasing not just a diverse collection of film, music, arts, and games, but also immersive programming and talks that are of interest to fans. Tribeca Film festival was founded by famed actor Robert De Niro as well as Craig Hatkoff and Jane Rosenthal. This event was founded in 2001 as a way to stimulate the economic and cultural revitalization of the lower Manhattan area after the horrific attacks on 9/11.

This event tends to have about 150,000 attendees every year, with over 600 screenings. This event also gives out awards to indie artists in 23 competitive categories every year. The goal of the Tribeca Film Festival, in additional to the revitalization of this area, was to raise awareness of independent films and showcase these films to a much larger audience.

The 2020 festival was cancelled due to the pandemic, but the 2021 edition is set to hold. The organizers recently announced plans to return in 2021, with the event scheduled to run from June 9 to 20 in New York City.  Tickets information will be released closer to that time.
